September was huge, so much to do, and so much fun!
I finally celebrated Mary's 50th, with a feast at the local Tapas.
We saw Ita Buttrose and Mikey Robbins give talks at our history festival for work.
We saw The White Album show on the Friday night. Tim Rogers, Josh Pyke, Chris Cheney, and Phil Jamison. They played the entire White Album by The Beatles and some extra songs. I had seen the same show a few years back and it was as good, if not better.
The following night, we met friends for dinner and then saw The George Ellis Orchestra do Hans Zimmer and it was divine.
Later in the month we saw Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets at The Enmore Theatre. Nick is the drummer of Pink Floyd. I love Pink Floyd and this is probably as close as I will get to seeing 'them' live. The band, headed by Gary Kemp (from Spandau Ballet and he was amazing), played all the early stuff and it was phenomenal.
While in Sydney, I saw a great exhibition on 50 years of Sydney Opera House and Marilyn Monroe.
We also headed to Melbourne for a week's holiday.
We did a lot...
VIsited the NGV and the Pierre Bonnard exhibit.
Had an amazing meal then saw Moulin Rouge, which was amazing!
We saw a great exhibition at the ACMI, wandered the streets and found a new Italian restaurant near our hotel.
We visited St Kilda and my sister and had a wonderful day.
It was a lovely break, with plenty of rest which we both needed.
October was also busy, catching up with friends for lunches, my nephew's 21st and our anniversary dinner.
We hosted Judy Nunn at work, what a remarkable woman, friendly, kind, intelligent and funny.
We also saw the great Paul McCartney in concert and you can read about that here
November flew by, with celebration's for Brooke's birthday and lunch with Jen at Morpeth.
We also saw Devo, you can read about it here.
December was busy.
Catching up with friends, birthdays, and finally holidays.
I had a week at home tidying up TAFE admin and marking and prep, and doing little jobs around Club Cathy.
I finally caught up with Cathy after both of us being so busy, and we celebrated Dad's birthday.
I headed to Sydney city the weekend before Christmas.
We saw the Cruel Sea on the Friday night at The Enmore, but you can read about it here.
The following day while Andrew dashed to Brisbane for a gig, I enjoyed Christmas in the city. It was a lovely vibe and really helped me get into the Christmas zone. Plenty of beautiful decorations at Town Hall, QVB, Circular Quay and Martin Place. I had an early dinner at the Four Frogs Creperie.
We rounded the weekend out with dinner at Circular Quay and some good quality people watching.
Christmas Eve was spent with Andrew's family, and we had a lovely day.
We then headed back to Club Cathy before heading to my sister's for our usual Christmas Day Family get together, which was also lovely.
As always, my birthday is the following day...sigh...and we had a mad day of crazy Scrabble before heading to The Duke for a family dinner and lovely cheesecake made with love by my sister.
The remaining time of 2023 was spent relaxing, and going for a few walks.
NYE was laid back, takeaway, champagne, and movies.
